Woman Hospitalized After House Fire in Suffolk

Shirley (WALK) - For the second day in a row, there's been a tragic house fire in Suffolk.

A woman was badly hurt in a blaze in Shirley that police are calling suspicious. She was pulled from a burning home on William Floyd Parkway around 1:30 PM and brought to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment. Authorities haven't released her name or her medical condition yet.

Police say the fire is being investigated as criminal in nature.

One day before the fire in Shirley, a man died in a house fire on Melville Road in East Farmingdale, just a few blocks from Farmingdale State College. His name hasn't been released yet by authorities.
