Warrant for Son who Helped Dad Fake Death-Disappearance

Mineola - (WALK) The man who helped his dad fake his death and disappear from Long Island last year is now a wanted man. Prosecutors in Nassau say a warrant was issued for Jonathan Roth, 23, of Massapequa, after Roth failed to attend a routine court appearance Friday.

Roth pleaded guilty to conspiracy in May, admitting his role in helping his father, Raymond Roth, 48, also of Massapequa fake an evident death by drowning at Jones Beach last year.  The elder Roth faces three-months in jail for his disappearing-act, but also faces time in state prison for allegedly trying to kidnap a young woman in Freeport.

Authorities are reportedly surprised by Jonathan Roth's failure to attend the court session Friday, as he is expected to avoid jail-time in return for testimony against his father.
