Glen Cove - (WALK) A Glen Cove teen is accused of using social media to threaten anti-social acts against a local police officer.
Julian Velasquez, 19, is being held on $3,000 cash bail after his arrest Wednesday for allegedly threatening a Glen Cove police officer twice, via the social media site facebook.
Velasquez was pulled over by a Glen Cove police officer on January 19 and his vehicle was impounded after the officer determined Velasquez did not have insurance coverage. Two days later Velasquez located the arresting officer's facebook page and sent him two messages threatening bodily harm, said police.
Valasquez is charged with two counts of second-degree aggravated harassment and one count of second-degree menacing, according to prosecutors.
