Suspect Nabbed in Recent String of Armed Robberies in Suffolk

Lake Ronkonkoma - (WALK) An image captured on a surveillance camera helped lead Suffolk police to capture a man who may be responsible for a recent series of armed robberies.

Suspect Paul Tromblee, 35, of Manorville, is in custody today, after his arrest Saturday. He was located by detectives while driving on Sunrise Highway in Brookhaven shortly after 3:00 p.m.

Police say Tromblee (photo) may be responsible for a series of armed robberies since October 26, including the robbery of a CVS pharmacy on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma Thursday, where a clear image was recorded by surveillance cameras.

In each case, police say the suspect may be responsible for at least seven other robberies at gas stations and other businesses in Eastport, Calverton, Mastic, Bohemia, North Babylon, St. James, Dix Hills, and at a Jamba Juice restaurant in Stony Brook. No injuries were reported in any of the robberies, said police.

Tromblee is charged with nine counts of robbery, and continue to investigate if Tromblee is responsible for similar recent robberies.

Police also continue their search for suspects in a rash of daytime burglaries in West Islip and Islip during recent weeks.

Police ask anyone with information about the robberies and/or suspects to call the confidential Crime Stoppers tips line at (800) 220-TIPS.  Information leading to a conviction earns a cash reward.
