Snow Go on LI

Patchogue (WALK) - Schools Island-wide have cancelled classes today because of a wet snowfall that made for a slippery commute this morning.

WALK 97.5 FM's meteorologist Pat Pagano predicts that the storm will drop 4 to 6 inches of snow in most parts of the Island before it ends tonight, with some parts of the South Shore possibly getting even more. The National Weather Service has put a Winter Storm Warning in effect until 7 PM tonight.

Over 100 public and private schools across Long Island cancelled class today because of the poor road conditions. Pat says that travel conditions could be even worse for the ride home tonight, when temperatures drop and the roads ice over.

This may not be our only snow this week. Pat predicts a wintry mix on Tuesday night into Wednesday, before it turns to all rain on Wednesday morning. He is also predicting a possible snow storm next Sunday.
