Shirley - (WALK) Two men managed to walk away uninjured after their aircraft tumbled and crashed at Brookhaven Calabro Airport Sunday morning.
The single-engine Cessna 210 (similar to photo) had an apparent mechanical failure shortly after taking off from the airfield in Shirley, at about 11:30 a.m. The plane tumbled from an elevation of roughly 25 feet and crashed-landed upside down about 10 feet from the runway, according to a town public safety official.
Authorities at Calabro notified the Federal Aviation Administration. An investigation continues.
