SCPD: Daughter Charged in Car Crash that Killed her Mother

Brookhaven - (WALK) A Mastic woman is free on bail today after her arrest in connection with a car crash that killed her mother, according to Suffolk police.

Jessica Pistolese, 38, was driving westbound on Montauk Highway in Brookhaven when she crashed her car into a vehicle making a turn from Horseblock Road onto Montuak Highway shortly before 4:00 p.m. Saturday.  Pistolese's mother, Judith Rivera, 71, of East Patchogue, was in the front passenger seat and was killed in the crash, according to Suffolk County officials.

The driver of the other car, Aide Marichal, 51, also of Mastic, was traveling southbound on Horseblock Road when she attempted to turn left (east) on Montauk Highway before the crash, said police.

Pistolese and Marichal were both taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, and treated for non-life threatening injuries.  Marichal was released; Pistolese was arrested and charged with reckless driving.  She was released on bail and will be arraigned on November 4, according to police.
