Port Jefferson (WALK) - Two fishermen were rescued on the Long Island Sound Sunday after their boat began to sink.
Suffolk Marine Police found the boat about a mile and a half off Port Jefferson Harbor (pictured at right) after receiving a distress call via VHF radio just before 1 PM. The 16-foot Bayliner was already half submerged in the water.
Dan Antino, 28, of Sound Beach and Brian Gulino, 26, of Coram had gone out fishing when the boat began to take on water. No one else was on board.
Both men were wearing life vests and neither was injured, according to the marine police who brought them back to shore.
