Polish Town, USA (WALK) It's one of Long Island's great, annual traditions: the Polish Town Street Fair and Polka Festival, this weekend in Riverhead, New York.
The festival features Polish traditional foods, music, costume and dance. Visitors also have the opportunity to purchase imports from Poland, including jewelry, nesting-dolls, Polish flags and coats-of-arms, and images celebrating Pope John Paul II and labor advocate Lech Walesa.
The festivities are Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Polka Festival is Sunday 3:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Polish Town U.S.A. is located at the corner of Pulaski Street and Osborne Avenue in Riverhead. The fair is free, the Polka Festival admission is $13 for adults, $5 for ages 11 and under.
