One Dead in House Fire in Suffolk

Melville (WALK) - Suffolk Police haven't yet released the name of the person who died in a house fire last night.

The victim's body was discovered inside a home on New York Avenue in Melville after firefighters responded to a 911 call, just after 9:30 PM. The two-story house was completedly engulfed by flames, though police aren't sure yet exactly how the victim died.

This happened just a few hours after a 2-year-old boy was pulled from a burning apartment in Ronkonkoma. The toddler was reportedly rescued by his mother's boyfriend and a volunteer firefighter who just happened to be driving by on Hawkins Avenue, and pulled over when he saw the smoke.

Investigators haven't figured out what caused either blaze yet.
