One Critical After Weekend Nightclub Shooting

Garden City (WALK) - Investigators hope that tips from the public will help them track down whoever shot up a Long Island nightclub early Sunday morning, leaving two people wounded, one critically.

Nassau police say that someone opened fire inside Mint, a restaurant and lounge in Garden City, at around 3:30 AM Sunday morning. The gunman fired rounds into a crowd after a fight broke out, according to detectives.

Two young men ages 21 and 23 were struck. One is in critical condition with a head wound, police say. The other was wounded in the leg and is in stable condition.

Mint is located just outside Roosevelt Field on Ring Road, the road that encircles the mall parking lot. The restaurant/club is in a stand-alone building.

Police have no description of a suspect and ask anyone who might have information to please contact Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
