Seaford - (WALK) An apparently judgement-challenged Seaford man faces drugs and weapons charges after police say he fired a rifle at a backyard target next to Seaford Harbor Elementary School.
Michael Marron, 55, of Island Channel Road, was arrested Saturday morning after police responded to a call of someone using a BB gun for target-shooting near the school.
Police say Marron had a metal suit of armor attached to a chain-link fence separating his property from the school grounds. Marron was using a BB gun, and firing bullets from a .22 caliber rifle at the armor. The target had many bullet-holes, said police.
The placement of the target is problematic, as projectiles may carry beyond the fence and endanger anyone on the school property.
Investigators also found Marron was in possession of cocaine and 19 hydromorphone hydrochloride pills (Dilaudid) pills. The drug is a painkiller; a derivative of morphine.
Marron was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead. Charges include two counts of Prohibitions on the Use and Possession of Firearms.
