Mom and Daughter Killed in Suffolk House Fire

Huntington Station (WALK) - Fire officials continue their investigation into a fatal housefire in Huntington Station where a woman and her disabled adult daughter were killed late Thursday night.

First responders found Reyna Paris, 64, and Rosemary Martinez, 29, inside the house on Fourth Avenue, in their second floor bedrooms, after answering a 911 call around 11:45 PM. The two were rushed to Huntington Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The only survivor, Joseph Martinez, 29, escaped the fire through a basement window and suffered minor, non-lifethreatening injuries, according to police. The victims were his mother and sister.

Firefighters from the Huntington Manor Fire Department say that the house was extremely cluttered, which complicated efforts to battle the flames.

Arson and homicide detectives continue their investigation and have not yet determined cause of the fire. Anyone who has information that might be able to help investigators is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS. All calls willl remain confidential.
