Lindenhurst (WALK) - Tips from public have helped lead police to a suspect in a lowly crime.
A Lindenhurst man is under arrest in the theft of a donation jar off the counter of a 7-Eleven store on North Greene Avenue in Lindenhurst on February 3rd. Police say they received a slew of phone calls from the public, pointing them towards Matthew Donadeo, 20, after releasing store security camera footage of the crime.
Donadeo was arrested at a friend's house in Lindenhurst this past Tuesday.
The stolen jar contained money that was being collected for cancer research, in memory of the store manager's daughter.
The supect was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip earlier this week. He is charged with petit larceny.
