Washington D.C. - (WALK) Families, faculty and administrators at four Long Island elementary schools are celebrating the designation of their schools as National Blue Ribbon schools by the U.S. Department of Education.
The schools are four of among just 286 schools throughout the United States selected for this honor. Designees are selected for high achievement or dramatic improvement.
The winning schools were identified as exemplary and hiigh performing. They are: West Side School in the Cold Spring Harbor district, Kramer Lane Elementary School in the Bethpage district, Bayville Elementary School in the Locust Valley district, and Shaw Avenue Elementary School in the Valley Stream 30 district.
The federal department of education will honor the four Long Island schools along with 236 other public and 50 private schools during ceremonies in Washington, D.C., November 18 and 19. CONGRATULATIONS!
