Riverhead - (WALK) A total of nine suspects are accused of running a heroin sales and distribution outfit, "serving" user-clients throughout Eastern Long Island, according to Suffolk prosecutors.
The suspects are three men from New York City and six from Suffolk who operated from a base in Riverhead and sold a premium-priced product. Packets were stamped with the brand-name "Hollywood," according to District Attorney Thomas Spota.
"...the Hollywood stamp had a reputation on the streets of being one of the highest quality and heroin users would travel to Riverhead from Bridgehampton, Southampton, Southampton Village, Sag Harbor, Quogue, Greenport, and from as far west as Ronkonkoma and Miller Place to buy it," said Spota.
Of the six Suffolk suspects, five are from Riverhead and one from Mastic. The New York City men are residents of Harlem. Their arrests followed a two-year investigation, according to prosecutors.
