Mineola - (WALK) A Lynbrook contractor is accused of cheating clients out of thousands of dollars, and if convicted faces up to seven years in prison, according to Nassau prosecutors.
Rodrigo Leiton took money from clients in Nassau to repair houses damaged by superstorm Sandy. Leiton collected cash, but failed to perform the repairs on the properties in Franklin Square and Merrick.
Leiton's company, R & A Home Improvements, Inc. is reportedly unlicensed to do business. Homeowners were also victimized in Valley Stream and East Rockaway, said prosecutors.
Lieton is scheduled to appear in court Thursday. If convicted, he faces two to seven years in prison. Anyone who may be a victim is asked to call 516-571-3505.
