Brookville (WALK) - A cell phone thief found a nearly-perfect place to commit his crime, cops say, but they caught him anyway.
A Queens man has been arrested after an incident during a basketball game at the LIU Post campus in Brookville last month. Dasheen Simpkins allegedly went into the visiting team's locker room during the game on January 1st and stole four cell phones, as well as two phone cases, that belonged to visiting players and their coach.
Simpkins, 20, was arrested after detectives took a look at video taken by security cameras in the building. He was allegedly caught on tape entering the visiting team's locker room during the game.
Simpkins will be arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead. He's charged with grand larceny.
