Arrest Made in Suffolk Road Rage Incident

Holbrook (WALK) - Suffolk police say they've caught up with guy who was involved in a road rage incident that was caught on video on Veterans Memorial Highway last month.

Investigators say Thomas Brown Jr. of Holbrook had a meltdown behind the wheel on July 24th because of lane closures due to construction on eastbound Vets Highway, not far from his Holbrook home. Two lanes were being merged into one, and Brown, 37, allegedly got into an argument with another driver over which car would merge ahead first.

According to witnesses, Brown (pictured above) then made a left from eastbound Vets Highway at Coates Avenue, but instead of turning onto Coates, he veered his SUV onto the westbound shoulder of Vets Highway and proceeded to head east on the westbound shoulder.

Police say that's when a camera phone was pulled out by the driver who'd just argued with Brown. A video shows a Toyota RAV 4 traveling the wrong way on the shoulder of Vets Highway, passing several other vehicles and almost hitting them.

Authorities say they were able to trace Brown and arrested him at his Holbrook home on Sunday. Brown claims the other driver threw something at his vehicle. He has been charged with reckless endangerment.
