Arrest Made in Sale of Stolen Cablevision Equipment

Jericho (WALK) - Contrary to the old expression, things are not yours for the taking if they fall off a truck.

That's the reminder from Nassau Police after the arrest of a Queens man who allegedly helped helped himself to wifi transmitters that fell off the truck of a Cablevision subcontractor on the Long Island Expressway back in August. According to police, Bryan Urbano (pictured at left) pulled over his vehicle near exit 41 in Jericho, scooped up some of the equipment and took off with it.

Urbano, 21, was taken into custody in Lake Success yesterday after investigating officers allegedly saw him complete a "hand to hand transaction" where he traded the transmitters for money. Detectives recovered six of the missing transmitters, they said.

Cablevision collaborated with Nassau Police detectives in the investigation.

Urbano is facing charges including grand larceny. He's being arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead.
