Plainview (WALK) - A man is under arrest after the prescription a doctor wrote for him wound up reading differently by the time he brought it to a pharmacy, cops say.
David Gold of Plainview allegedly went into the CVS on Old Country in Plainview last week with a prescription for 110 pills of Percocet, a strong painkiller. The pharmacist became suspicious because the prescription appeared to have been altered. The pharmacist called the doctor, who said he'd written the prescription for 10 pills, not 110.
The pharmacist then called police, who arrested Gold without incident, they say.
Gold, 47, has been arraigned on charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
