Alleged Female Robber Nabbed in Nassau

Baldwin (WALK) - A one-woman crime spree is over, according to Nassau Police.

Officers have caught up with a Baldwin woman who allegedly committed three robberies on the South Shore over the past week and a half, including a bank. Patricia Hernandez, 45, is being arraigned this morning on robbery charges.

Detectives say the spree began on March 16th in Freeport when Hernandez went into a Payless Shoes location and handed a yellow post-it to the cashier, demanding money. The victim claimed to have seen a handgun in the robber's handbag during the heist.

The next hold-up happened on March 20th at the Nine West store in Oceanside. Hernandez allegedly gave a store employee a demand note, then left with cash, a handbag and a wallet. Three days later, Hernandez allegedly used another demand note to rob the TD Bank branch on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.

No one was hurt in any of the robberies, according to police.
