East Patchogue (WALK) - A fire at an auto repair shop before dawn Monday sent three volunteer firefighters to the hospital.

The blaze was reported just before 3 AM at Suffolk Collision Specialists on Montauk Highway in East Patchogue. The three firefighters, whose injuries were not immediately known but are reportedly not life-threatening, were among volunteers from the Hagerman, Bellport and Patchogue departments who responded to the scene.

The building was empty when the fire broke out and no one else was hurt. The Arson Squad is investigating what caused the blaze.
