Hempstead - (WALK) A Hempstead accused making "dates" with women via computer then sexually assaulting them remains behind bars and is scheduled to return to court Tuesday.
Ramone Smith, 23, of Washington Street, was arraigned Saturday and ordered held on $250,000 bail or $500,000 bond, according to court records.
Smith is charged with multiple felony weapon and sexual assault charges for a series of three attacks in August and September. In each case the women travelled to his home, where Smith brought them to the roof and used a box cutter to threaten each woman before sexually assaulting her. Two of the women were 19 years old, the third victim is 31, according to Nassau police.
Smith (photo) was arrested Friday morning in Mineola and is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First Distrct Court in Hempstead. Charges against him include predatory sexual assault, first degree rape, robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon.
