Yaphank (WALK) - So what's in your wallet? Hopefully it's not some fake currency.
Poilce in Suffolk are looking for two suspects who used counterfeit $20 bills to make purchases at three stores in recent weeks. The first suspect is a woman who used the funny money to buy gauze at Echo Medical and Surgical Supplies on Echo Avenue in Miller Place on December 30th around 3 PM, and and then proceeded a few doors down to Echo Pharmacy, where she used another fake bill to purchase rubbing alcohol, according to detectives.
The other suspect, a man, used a phony $20 to buy food at the McDonald's on Middle Country Road in Centereach around 9:15 PM on January 8th.
The two suspects are pictured at left, in photos taken by store security cameras. The woman is described as white and approximately 5'4" tall. She left the parking lot in a black Ford Mustang with New York plates. Police have not released a description of the male suspect.
Suffolk Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to the arrest of either of these suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
